#1 Blue Angles support plane. Some air fields were they perform do not have runways long enough for the heavy plane to take off from. So they use JATO 'Jet-assisted takeoff'. Saw it used at a airshow down in Texas.

1) Rocket Assist Takeoff. That aircraft has been retired and replaced by a C-130J that does not need the RATO so they lost that part of the airshow. The only C-130J's the DOD will allow the Marines and navy to buy are KC-130J tankers so they bought the replacement for Fat Albert "used" from the RAF.
