Gotta practice what you preach

An anti-violence worker is facing a Class X felony gun charge after Chicago police said they found him carrying a gun on the Near West Side.

Cops were called to the 2300 block of West Van Buren on Saturday evening by someone who said a group of men were smoking pot and refusing to leave the building, according to the arrest report for Davon Turner, 35.

  2. At least he was sent home - Prosecutors did not ask Judge David Kelly to detain Turner, according to court records. Kelly sent him home to await trial.

  3. He’s charged with Class X armed habitual criminal and being a felon in possession of a firearm. His previous felony convictions include being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2014 and narcotics cases in 2018, 2013, 2008, and 2007.

I wonder if they let him have his pistol back before they released him?

  4. CeaseFire Chicago recruits and trains a new cadre of workers called “violence interrupters.”

    Can't interrupt unless you carry.

  5. Class "X" felony? Like malcom? They let you go free if you're black, charge you if you're white?

  6. I wouldn’t spend a lot of time trying to make sense of anything from these hellholes.
