Menthol cigarette ban: Biden administration may finalize regulations soon

WASHINGTON - The Biden administration is preparing to issue highly anticipated standards targeting menthol cigarettes.

The regulations, which would broadly ban the product, were first proposed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) two years ago and have continued to spark debate between health advocates, civil liberties and business groups.

Slow Joe might want to hold off on that until after the election. The brothas are going to be pissed as hell if he takes away their Newports.

  1. I just didn't realize what a scam the FDA/CDC is until the covid clot shot. Why you pick one cigarette type over another is just beyond stupid. All or none.

    1. Anything the CDC/FDA does is merely a business transaction with the pharmaceutical companies

  3. I remember back in the day, when many, if not most, "dark green" Marines smoked "mints." That is, black US Marines smoked any and all brands of menthol cigarettes. So, will the blacks scream and shout that banning "mints" is racist???

  4. Finding the Governments authority to ban a flavor of cigarette in the US Constitution is difficult.

  5. I concur based upon many years in the military, black folks do predominantly smoke menthol Newports. Come to think of it, I never saw any blacks smoke any other. And as much as it may make people uncomfortable, they utterly destroy the chow hall when there is watermelon or fried chicken being served. IYKYK. Oxtails & collard greens, too.

    1. So are the folks who smoke them so it must be a "which came first the chicken or the egg?" scenario.

  11. They tried banning menthol cigarettes before, but it was deemed racist, so the government backed off.

    1. They learned from Prohibition that "Ban All" didn't work at all. They also learned from Gun Control (starting in 1934) that incremental bans do work very well. "Oh, we'll just tax and make it hard to afford full auto. Oh, we'll just require you to register your guns. Oh, we'll just ban the sale of new full or select auto. Oh, we'll just..."
