Those are harmless. They don't spin annoying webs in your home and they eat things like cockroaches and other small annoying bugs. Strange he got it to crawl up his arm though, they're usually very shy.
Had a pet Emperor scorpion back in the early 90s that helped me get rid of a bitch. She saw it and said that she didn't like it. I said "What do you mean "it". There are suppose to be two in there." She never stepped foot back into my apartment.
Everything goes fine until you open the closet to a cane spider, a scorpion is hiding in your hockey nut-cup and you shake a 6"centipede out of your boot.
