Washington governor commits energy suicide with new plan to outlaw natural gas
Washington Governor Jay Inslee has signed new legislation that will effectively outlaw the use of natural gas in the state. Inslee, a Democrat, boasted that the bill would help the state reach net zero emissions by 2050 at a bill signing event. However, those opposed to the bill have been quick to point out just how bad it will be for the state's residents.

Too bad the Progressives will steamroll the rest of the state because in the 21st century no compromise and no playing fair environment might makes right.

DeleteSpoken like someone who's never been here. There are several counties around I-5 that hate Seattle being the defacto government for the state. I'm in one of them. A few years ago a group of us made the news when we showed up armed-to-the-teeth and chased State Patrol off over trying to shut down a local business over COVID bullshit.
DeleteThis is interesting. I wonder if the bill covers propane. It could lead to a boon for propane dealers as homes convert to propane instead of going all electric. I also wonder how many whole house generators that were powered by natural gas are now very expensive art objects unless they can convert to propane.

ReplyDeleteThe logic is the same as "if I don't piss in this end of the pool, I can ignore that mob of (fill in the blank) at the other end who are dropping deuces, what a perfect plan! What they are doing won't impact me." What a damn fool that guy is. Every unit of economic output REQUIRES a unit of energy INPUT. Without natural gas (America is the Saudi Arabia of natural gas), America as an industrial powerhouse is doomed.

ReplyDeleteMy brothers wonder why I state in Commieville Norde and I keep telling htem if we all keep escaping we will all end up in a handfull of states and still be fucked. Someone has to stay behind enemy lines and do the wet and dirty work.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, even as a resident, I call on the energy companies to oblige these commie states and announce a one year plan to close all facilities in the state, stop shipments of all fuels and call their bluff.
They have no idea what would happen without oil products, especially the by-products. How they think going back to stone houses, burning peat or wood, riding horses or walking will get us to zero emmisions is ridiclous. Although the believe the magic electric gods will save us,
