A Florida man is recovering after being attacked by an 11-foot alligator while walking his dogs. He was rescued by a brave neighbor who happened to be in the right place at the right time.
Walter Rudder says he was driving into his neighborhood Friday night when he came across his friend and neighbor, Rick Fingeret, who was lying on the ground screaming for help. He says an 11-foot alligator had Fingeret by the leg and was dragging him into a pond.
So what was this guy doing when he got attacked by the gator? What time of day was it?
ReplyDeleteThis is what passes for “journalism “ these days.
The mating season is about to begin. Gators will travel long distances to mate. If you have a small pond that never has gators ya might want to be a bit more alert. In their travels they will hole up in a small pond and move on.
ReplyDeletePervert alligators mating out of species? Dragging their victims into ponds so they can have their way with them. The horror!
DeleteThe gator was "trapped and relocated" What about the boots and holsters? Gator tail $8 a pound.
ReplyDeleteIf he was my neighbor, I would be asking his wife if she was going to sell his car. I would wait until he is buried of course.
ReplyDeleteLOL 'Keep a safe distance' is right. Most folks dont realize it, but a gator can stand up on all fours and outrun a dog for short spurts. 30-40 yds. We had a cattle ranch in E. Tx with a 'bog' on one section of it that had several of em. Losing a calf now and again was a normal occurrence. It'll sure surprise the hell outta someone seeing it for the first time.
ReplyDeleteExactly, a gator can move pretty fast for a short distance, you want to be able to outrun it for 20 - 30 yards..

Another reason to carry...
ReplyDeleteAny of you all have an opinion on an adequate caliber for gators, I’m guessing 9mm might not be enough
DeleteWell Joe people who trap them use a 22lr between the eyes, of course they are right on top of it so.......

Well if your leg is in their mouth then you might be close enough.
