Craig Doty II, a Tesla owner, narrowly avoided a collision after his vehicle, in Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode, allegedly steered towards an oncoming train.
Nighttime dashcam footage from earlier this month in Ohio captured the harrowing scene: Doty's Tesla rapidly approaching a train with no apparent deceleration. He insisted his Tesla was in Full Self-Driving mode when it barreled towards the train crossing without slowing down.
Full Self-Driving Mode. If you are willing to bet your life on that working perfectly in all situations and conditions ... well, you just aren't that bright.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't trust my life to a computer program. I've used too many computers.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't be allowed to sue you got exactly what you paid for you save the world global warming peice of shit. No fucks given.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who relies on a self-driving car is an idiot and deserves his comeuppance. And anyone stupid enough to spend money on an electric car is just that, an idiot.
ReplyDelete"steered towards an oncoming train." it's not a bug, it's a feature.
ReplyDeleteDarwin award, make way for the Tesla award.
ReplyDelete- Loose
Mr. Happy cracking me up that's funny
ReplyDeleteYou can never get people to think about the big picture. The problem with self driving cars is that the infrastructure and environment required for them to function does not exist. If all roads were perfect, smooth, and well demarcated, and all drivers and (and train engineers) followed a perfect schedule and set of rules then everything would work but we live in a real world full of random happenenings and roadways that are neither well thought out or maintained. Fixing all of that is a much much bigger problem that trendy virtue signalling self driving car owners don't want to think about. The other problem is freedom. How much freedom to move around are you willing to sacrifice so that these idiots can use self driving cars. I know my answer.
ReplyDeleteArtificial Intelligence will and is currently seeing its human creators as threats. What do you do to a threat? You eliminate it. The real problem is almost all people can't comprehend the fact that a supposed inanimate object can't "think" like they do. Eventually the survival of the fittest mandate will replace the dumb, emotional reacting, instant gratification fueled human species with a higher intelligence.
ReplyDeleteMachines are getting smarter.
DeletePeople are getting stupider.
People have been stupid for quite some time now. Not enough Darwin Awards to go around.
DeleteAs I was told many yaers ago, "would you stick your hand in a punch press using Windows as it's operating system"!
ReplyDelete"It emphasises the need for constant vigilance, including keeping hands on the wheel, monitoring road conditions and traffic, staying alert for pedestrians and cyclists, and being prepared to take immediate control."
ReplyDeleteThe world has gotten very stupid. It's lemming time, all over again.
