BOHICA, California

An emissions reduction program is forecasted to increase already soaring gas costs by as much as 50 cents per gallon in the next two years in one Democrat-led state.

The California Air Resources Board Low Carbon Fuel Standard 2023 amendments impact assessment released in September found the proposed reforms would raise costs that drivers would feel at the pump.

Gas prices are estimated to rise by 47 cents per gallon in 2025 and 52 cents in 2026, not including the existing gas tax in the state.

Gas prices here yesterday is $3.29 - $3.39 a gallon while a quick check on Gasbuddy shows prices ranging from $4.69 to $5.49 in the area of California I came from.
I can't even begin to tell you how glad I am to have left that State. I hate the fact that I'm paying more than 3 bucks a gallon here, but I couldn't imagine paying more than 5 dollars.

  1. Ya know, it clearly boggles the mind that the Cali legislature either does not realize they are cutting their collective throats or(and this is the scary part)that what they are doing is actually part of "the grand scheme" to shut it all down. Something wicked, clearly, this way walks!

    1. My Dad was born in San Francisco in 1919. He spent his entire life as a merchant seaman and as an engineer on SF's Fireboat Phoenix. He passed away in 2004. I often wish I could still talk to him like we used to so I could hear what he thinks of his beloved City today.

But then again, I'm glad he's not here to see what the Dems have done to it.

  3. 50 cents?
    Not true.
Starting tomorrow gas prices will be in LITERS.
That brings the increase to only 13 cents and people will be happy as long as the price per liter says below the current price per gallon.
    All Hail Nuisance!

    1. My friend in Julian CA said it was 4.90 but she's glad she only has a Ford Ranger.
As if that makes the price any better, right?

  6. Another ignored tax on gasoline in California is the Cap and Trade fee. It's almost never mentioned, but it must have been recently raised another 8¢, because it's currently at 30¢ per gallon. When CARB first enacted the fee, they proclaimed it could (arbitrarily) be raised to 77¢ per gallon, and this fee is entirely separate from the Low Cabon Fuel Standard fee. Also, the excise tax can be raised to match inflation every July first. It's currently 30¢ per gallon.

The rate they're going, by the end of this decade you won't be able to find gas for less than seven bucks anywhere in California. This is all being done by $180,000 a year unelected bureaucrats, all of whom were appointed by Democrats. And the man who appointed most of them constantly complains about Californians being gouged by the 'greedy' Big Oil companies.

My Pops and little brother left The People's Democratic Republic of Calmexistan a year ago for the great free state of Texas and haven't regretted it....I was fortunate enough to have left the PDROC 35 years ago when I enlisted and declined the offer to be moved back to the PDROC when I got out and haven't regretted it.
