CBS News California identifies sudden spike in sexually violent predators set for release into communities

CBS News California has identified a spike in the number of "sexually violent predators" who are being granted conditional release by the Department of State Hospitals amid an ongoing struggle to find appropriate housing for the men. The original reporting prompted several proposed changes to state law but, one by one, the bills are dying inside California's capitol.

    This doesn't end until one of these guys commits a crime and those who released him are tried as co-conspirators.

    Ya gotta steal over $900 worth of property per theft in California to be arrested. I wonder what the rape and molestation threshold for the violent predators is.

    How about digging a trench - way out in the desert - 20 feet deep, a half mile long and bury them all in it.
