A northern Colorado rancher tossing bales of hay to cattle was killed when he was struck by lightning on Saturday, authorities said. The bolt also killed 34 members of the herd he was feeding.
I recorded a bolt of lightning on my dashcam once that if anybody had been hit by there would not have even been ashes left. It gets a little wild out here sometimes and lst night was little scary.
A couple of years ago at a Rendezvous in Oregon, the camp’s mule skinner lost all seven of his charges in one flash. Terrifying and sad. Sad for the rancher and his family too.
The hail was outrageous during that storm. I just had my roof repaired and I’m still waiting for painting the house. This one missed me, thank goodness.

ReplyDeleteGreat. Bill Gates has his own lightning machine.
ReplyDeletemembers of the herd? Ya mean cows? Sheesh
ReplyDeleteThat would only be true if all 34 of the beeves killed were mature females.
