A Tesla owner has been charged with vehicular homicide after his car--traveling in autopilot mode--slammed into a motorcyclist when he got distracted looking at his cellphone, according to Washington court records.
If govt. truly cared about safety, vs. control, they wouldn't be putting kill switches in all the new vehicles. They'd be putting cell phone jammers in the steering column.
There are maniacs using automatic pilot in their cars on public roads. Tesla must be turning over in his grave putting his name on this beta tester bullshit. - Loose
I've yet to meet a Tesla owner, period. Here's one for you: I have never seen an electric car. There's just not a big market for them here in Macon County.
I have no issue with charging the "driver". I do however have a problem with allowing Tesla to skate on this issue. "Autopilot" for vehicles is NOT reliable and should NOT be allowed in vehicles for sale to the public. As such Tesla bears just as much liability for this death as the "driver" does regardless of any legal "disclaimers" they may require a buyer to sign.
He looks like a twat.
ReplyDeleteTesla hits motorcycle while driver uses his iPhone. Is that what's known in the smartphone community as a "push alert" that cause it?
