Laugh-In's pilot captured the mood of the country that was expressed by marches, protesting acts of society… only we did it funnier. Rowan and Martin star in the very first all-comedy show with music, blackouts, cameo appearances, and endless surprises.
Very Inkteresting but stoopid

It was new & funny at the time!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that.
ReplyDeleteThat show sucked. Could never watch it, it was so left wing. Eventually it was what got it taken off the air.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to let me know that my efforts to keep y'all entertained with something nostalgic are appreciated.
DeleteI still see Goldie Hawn as the nitwit dancing in a bikini with silly slogans painted on her body.

When I was sixteen, in 67, I figure, as with most kids, we didn't know what a left wing was.
DeleteYeah. I was eight. I didn't even know there were wings.
DeleteIt's good to revisit some of those old shows to see if the comedy is still funny. F Troop is another show that was a hoot back then, but I need to take a look.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ken, I sure appreciate it! I don't remember the pilot, but I know I never missed it once we found it. Hell, my parents liked it, and they were NOT liberally oriented people! I think it was just a good, wacky comedy.
ReplyDeleteFjb and about 535 more
Rowan flew P-40s with the 49th fighter Group over New Guinea against the Japanese. Two kills before being badly wounded, DFC and Purple Heart.
ReplyDeleteThe show was groundbreaking for the time; quite a talented ensemble.
Back when all Americans were patriotic.
