  2. My Dad was a welder in the days before PPE was common, and definitely before it was required. He mentioned on job where the boss would bring a pint of milk every so often for each of the welders to drink. It was believed that the milk would neutralize the fumes from the galvanized they were welding. It didn't. That and other rather nasty things he welded led to tumors, necrotic ribs, and his death. If you weld, be smart about it.

  4. I was a pretty fair welder in my day (25+ years ago). I was up on all the latest and newest technologies. But Boy, does watching this video make me feel like a dinosaur. The newest advancements are literally mind boggling.

I really admire the young people today that have a whole new world of skills to learn and the great money they can make if they apply themselves. It's one of the few reasons I wish I was a young person now, as I would love to learn those new skills myself.

Welding has come so far since the days of working in a dark and grimy shop, spending hours beathing the smoke of arc and flux cored wire feed welding. Most of the shops shown are as clean as operating rooms. Really neat.

  5. Do you know why the Eiffel Tower is not welded?

Because Frogs are always Ribetting. (I don't have many opportunities to use that joke)
