The shooting victims from over the weekend range in age from 13 to 57, representing various parts of the city, and the violence has some seeking new solutions.
South Lawndale residents met with police on Monday following a staggering number of weekend shootings.
This surge of violence was caused by the folks wandering around all frustrated looking for their dads on Father's Day,

B should receive the "comment of the week award". Chicago would probably be higher in the rankings of the deadliest cities in America if they actually reported all of the statistical data to the "eff b eye" as many other cities do not report or only partially. Mogadishu on the Mississippi (aka Memphis) and St. Louis seem to go back and forth for that title. Of course, Little Rock, Minneapolis, Detroit, KC, New Orleans, Cleveland, Birmingham, and Houston rounding out the top ten, for what it is worth. What is the common denominator these urban hives have in common?

ReplyDeleteActually the kill rate for thugs, (not counting assassinations) is usually about 10%. Crapy guns, cheap ammo, shooting from a moving car, horrible gun control, just scaring rival gangs , etc.
ReplyDeleteChicago probably has one of the worst kill rates amongst thugs, the ground must be carpeted with shell casings in some sections of the the great hood know as Chicago
I seem to remember there are no gun ranges in Chitcago or Crook County.

Back in the early '90's three of us from where I worked went to the IMTS show at McCormick Place. The guy driving took the wrong exit, we wound up in a residential area and knew we needed to get the hell out of there fast when we saw a CPD car on the side of the street, on blocks with all the tires missing, and riddled with bullet holes.
