Sounds like some re-training is in order here
ROMULUS, N.Y. — The Five Points Correctional Facility says two sergeants and thirteen officers sustained injuries at the hands of two inmates in separate attacks the maximum security correctional facility, including ten staff who needed to be treated for smoke inhalation after an inmate set fire inside his cell.

It's New York. Use force on a criminal, get sued (at least) or prosecuted (most likely). The problem isn't training, it's that the staff are not allowed (or too fearful) to do what's needed.

ReplyDeleteIf we lock them up the responsibly for their safety falls to us. More or less. There was an asshole cop that gave k-y jelly to a a guy sentenced to life for shooting said cop. I have never heard a judge issue a sentence that included the words "for a term in which you shall be daily sodomized until your sentence is complete". Nope , our constitution forbids cruel & unusual punishments. Prison rape should be a get out of jail free ticket.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to have lived such a protected life. When criminals go to prison, they're only committing their crimes on other prisoners instead of innocent people.
Delete“Prison rape should be a get out of jail free ticket.” So if I ever go to prison all I have to do is rape one of the inmates and I go free? Imagine how empty our correctional facilities would be if that were true.
