Go strapped and watch out for Lefty Loonies

Fourth of July revelers should be on high alert for possible lone wolf 'attacks' as they celebrate the holiday, the FBI and Homeland Security warned.

The security agencies said solo attackers and small extremist groups pose the biggest threat, cautioning that large crowds are often seen as 'attractive targets.'

Experts warn that high tensions across the nation due to the presidential election and the ongoing Israel-Hamas war are heightening the risks, and lone-wolf attacks are alarmingly hard to prepare against.

We're not going anywhere. Well, we are but it's not a 4th of July thing - my in-law's church hosts AA meetings once a week and the church ladies take turns preparing some dishes, and tonight's Sue's turn. When it's her shot in the rotation, she has Lisa come over and give her a hand, and it also gives us a chance to visit for awhile. We'll be gone 3, maybe 4 hours and hopefully be home in time for dinner. Matter of fact, I should be back shortly after this posts, allowing me to successfully avoid the drunks on the road.
We do normally go to my brother-in-law's place for a nice family gathering but this year his wife is down in Mexico visiting her family, so Tim's taking advantage of it and getting caught up on paperwork at his job as long as the place is closed for the holiday. Either that or he's enjoying the peace and quiet and laid up drunk in his shop at home.

  1. Well, gee...if we had a border that vetted people coming in maybe that would be a good start.

  5. I went to many of those AA get togethers for many years. About every holiday they had something going on. I don't dislike the fourth. But I do dislike all the explosions.

  6. Not a worry, they are talking about us.
"Much of the focus appears to have fallen on domestic terrorism, with the FBI saying it is tracking around 850 suspected 'domestic' terrorists, following a significant increase in domestic terrorist cases involving white supremacists."
