Nine years??? That ain't your dog no more

Wandering on a windy, cold Las Vegas street, 2-year-old chihuahua mix Gizmo whimpered for his family while hunting for a way back home. Fortunately, after nine years, his loved ones never gave up hope.

On Feb. 3, 2015, Gizmo was playing in the backyard with the other dogs at the home of the Monarrez family when he broke out of the side yard gate.

At least not the one you raised. Shit, after 9 years, all you are to that dog is a hazy memory.

  1. The way my family got our cat when I was young was these neglectful people one street over got this kitten and never paid any attention to him. They'd just leave him out all day every day and night. The whole neighborhood knew him, kids and all (even the mean ones, who he learned to avoid.)

He started bringing us kills to our back door because we were nice to him. He also made a habit of beating the everloving shit out of all the other cats in the area, which really endeared him to my dad because my dad just loathed those cats.

My mom decided enough was enough one day and we took him in. The original owners made a half assed attempt to find him after finally realizing he disappeared, two weeks later. He lived to be 18, and was a spoiled as fuck house cat for the last 17 of those years.
