Why I expect Trump to go soft on Second Amendment now that he’s been targeted for assassination

All the signs point to Trump becoming the next James Brady, a Republican who converted to the dark side on gun control.

The Republican National Committee has removed almost every reference to the right to keep and bear arms from the 2024 party platform, a signal that those at the top of the ticket will be positioned to compromise on the issue.

Trump understands his supporters more than you might think. He's not going to fuck us over....he's not that kind of guy.

  2. Trump didn't get a lead lobotomy so I don't think he'll be as easily manipulated as Brady was. But, I expect Rinos to seize the moment

  3. To what point? Why would he (and GOP) want to alienate a significant portion of their voter base? You compromise positions to gain voter base because of the shift, but the group that the GOP/Trump would attempt to gain from, won't vote for them based on "orange man bad". Not to mention the gain/loss offset from that choice would be a lot of loss for not much gain.

Given the extreme watering down of our military, I'm guessing that the delegates interviewed for this article know the armed citizen is a better defense than whatever our current woke military is.

    1. Remember the nickname is The Stupid Party, and how they've earned the name

  4. I don't know. The signs are there. Which way they'll lean is not yet known. It's an even het as of now.
Sundance has something on Vance, that he's a globalist or something. I'm not fond of Sundance but he seems to have insider knowledge.

Remember, Trump was for red flag laws, bumpstock ban and stuff. He's our best bet for now. He better listen to The People instead of being played by DC insiders.
Trump has to come out swinging, prepared for scorched earth as need be.

    1. I quit reading 'Sundance' years ago after his 'I've got the goods' promise fizzled out. What a blowhard.

    2. Sundance seems to be good at gathering info. His ability to reach conclusions from said data could use some work.

  5. If this comes to pass and is apparent before election day ... my free time on election day just expanded, because I won't need to go to the polling place. Republicans need to be reminded that nobody owes them their support, no matter how bad the alternative is. That's the only leverage we've got on them.

If they hold firm, they'll have my support.

    1. Trump was never my 1st choice, nor 2nd or 3rd but when it became clear that it was him or hildabeast I bit the bullet..... Overall he was a good president but was left alone most of the time with influence from rinos and a cabinet chosen by those who disagreed with his policies... Consider where we would be after 2 terms of Klinton because it would have been reelected one way or another... Trump is soft on 2nd Ammendment policies but overall he's not anti 2A, we can work with that.
It's still up in the air whether the kackeling whore Kamel Toe will be the candidate for the D party but you can bet whoever it is will be staunchly anti 2A among many other of our rights...

  6. Anything after Brady got shot was in my opionion his wife and her influence on him. She had quite a mouth on her. There wasn't a whole lot going on in his brain pan after he got shot.

  7. Trump has always been a bill clinton style democrat. He just seems conservative in comparison to modern democrats.

    1. How true you are, I just got finished reading about Wyoming Govenor Lester C Hunt who went to the Fed Senate and his positions sounded pretty damn conservative to me.

  8. I'm not going to submit an opinion. This theory is a 50/50 toss-up that will only be revealed "if" Trump becomes president. However remember his Pistol Brace decision.

  9. The big question is "Will he defy SCOTUS decisions, as the Dems are wont to do?"

  10. For what it is worth, Trump was soft on the 2nd Amendment before he was president the first time. It was his sons that talked him into a more Constitutional(Founding Fathers) stance. And that's not saying much.

  11. Like most people. A life altering situation causes people to "temporarily" change their ways.
Until time passes then ultimately return back to ones self.

  12. He already said guns should be confiscated first, and then due process. Plus he banned bump. But he is a staunch 2A supporter, haha

  13. The RNC had cut guns from their party platform even before the attempt on Trump. Look it up, it was off the list of party platform planks weeks before the Convention.

Whch isn't to say you are wrong about Trump going soft(er) on guns. He was never a fan, and wasn't supportive,...
