Following recent reports about a male intruder sleeping inside a Vero Beach apartment complex stairwell, an officer on foot patrol yesterday found the suspect standing inside a common room at around 3 AM.

In my area (and likely others), the scam is to call people with missing pet posters up, tell them they're from a veterinary office, the animal needs emergency surgery, but they can only do it if you give them a credit card number or some other type of random payment that they come up with.
