Commentary: The DEI Trap

Kamala Harris’s sudden ascendancy within the Democrat Party, with nary a peep from other ambitious Democrats, spotlights the uncomfortable contradictions of identity politics and the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) movement.

Americans universally believe that everyone should have a fair shot at opportunities regardless of sex or race, which is why the kind of racism and sexism that was once so prevalent is so rare today.

  1. Lots of words to say nothing. The Communists have in her the same thing they had in Biden, a flunky who relishes power and will do as told. Nothing more, nothing less. Those two also serve the agenda of diminishing the very office of the President so they can implement panels of " experts" to run the show in the new world order. Unfortunately, they'll achieve the same end with Trump in office as the economy eventually implodes, as it must. As they say, it's a win, win for the Globalist evil. Eod1sg Ret

  2. No American white folks even liberals buy into this DEI shit but it was created as a control tool along with unrestrained invasion of 3rd world parasites by globalist progressives to torpedo the United States and bring it down to a global socialist entity. Look at all the big tech companies, retail companies and universities who bought into the Baboons and Faggots need a boost to get ahead only because they want to continue making a profit. In contrast look what happened when to Mike Lindell’ when he decided not to join the DEI club. He was piled on by the “establishment” and now he only scraping by with website customers. Fear of not surviving is a very strong basic human emotion. Now the fear of not surviving is the powerful tool being used by elite globalists like Soros to bring the great capitalist Satan into line.

  3. I think that is why The Squad is being eliminated from the November ballot. The Dems factor in that a lot of people aren't interested in purple hair pierced lip WOKE politics and would scare off Democrat voters. Better to bring them back on board after the November ballot.

Too much to lose - thats my guess. The risk is losing the WOKE vote altogether but likely Trump hate would not allow that.

  4. >Americans in 2024 embrace multiculturalism and diversity. This is the reason diversity and inclusion programs became ubiquitous. There’s virtue and no harm in gentle reminders to be sensitive and inclusive in light of our diversity.

That is simply not true. Most of the people I know are tired of the push toward multiculturalism and diversity. In the workplace, they recognize the movement as the latest version of Affirmative action and see that it is promoting mediocrity at the expense of meritocracy. Deserving individuals are being overlooked for jobs and promotions just so an undeserving victim class member can be "uplifted." Often at the expense of the hiring organization whose employees have to pick up the slack created by a bad hire.

The reasons DEI programs became ubiquitous are many, including pushes by financial powerhouses like Black Rock that demanded their implementation, Progressives who opined that these programs were necessary to "save the world", advocacy groups who saw these programs as a form of "earned" reparations, etc. It wasn't because the masses were calling for them. While it is true that, at least in substance, many Americans embrace multiculturalism and diversity, they do so as a choice, not because it has been mandated by the powers that be, and forced upon them at the proverbial point of a gun.

There is no virtue and great harm in the constant barrage of "reminders to be sensitive and inclusive in light of our diversity." While there may be a few Neanderthals who should be occasionally reminded of how polite society works, the constant drip, drip, drip of DEI messaging currently taking place only serves to desensitize the majority to the point of them being numb to it all, or worse, provoking them to push back against what they view as an attack on their job, society, family, and way of life.

Accepting others, regardless of their race, creed, etc. are personal choices. Attempts to mandate, legislate, or bully people into compliance will result in the opposite affect of what the Progressives desire. Given their history, one would think they would have learned that lesson by now.
