NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Former President Donald Trump targeted fellow Republican and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee following Thursday night's primary elections in which Trump-backed politicians won their races.
Once the Tennessee races were called, Trump wrote on his social media site Truth Social "I went 10 for 10 on endorsements tonight in the Great State of Tennessee, including Bobby Harshbarger, running against a strong, long-term incumbent supported by RINO Governor Bill Lee. A Great Day for Tennessee—now on to a Complete and Total Victory in November. MAGA 2024!"
Trump is correct. Bill Lee is indeed a RINO; he's been a squish on several issues including trying to push a red flag law. Whether any of his opponents would have been better, hard to say, but Lee has not been particularly effective or satisfactory.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Some days he blows hot, some days he blows cold. He pushed for and signed into law permitless carry, then the silly sonofabitch turned around and called for a special session of our legislature to pass red flag laws.
DeleteHe pushed for permitless carry when the Legislature had true constitutional carry in the hopper and was ready to pass it, but we got permitless carry "because that's what the Governor wants this year."
DeleteYes, he IS a fucking RINO.
Red flag laws? You guys can't be serious. https://youtu.be/yxgybgEKHHI?si=Ti68Kv3LT5np44Vq
DeleteAnon at 6:27 - What, you think we didn't know about that? If Trump's elected and does that, it'll be challenged in court just as fast as if Harris does it.
DeleteAnon at 6:27 - he is also relying on the expertise of his RINO VP Mike Pence. Not sure what his thought process was on this one but as wirecutter said, it would and should be challenged.
DeleteTrump is not wrong.
ReplyDeleteWell he isn't wrong
ReplyDeleteTrump is on a take no prisoners campaign, no more Mr Nice Guy. You're either with us or against us and if you're against us we're going to blow your rino ass out of the water....

As a fellow resident of TN, I have the feeling that Lee is not really a ring, more of a lilly livered moderate. The republican version of Carter. He was put up probably as a concession to nashville.
