A Simi Valley man and his Chihuahua are recovering after a coyote entered their home through the dog door and attacked until the man killed the wild creature with a kitchen knife.
Just before noon Monday, a homeowner in the 500 block of Shadow Lane exited the shower only to hear a commotion downstairs, Sgt. Morton of the Simi Valley Police Department told KTLA.
In Texas (and other unmentioned states), an AR-15 with hi-cap magazine would have been used to get rid of that var'mit. Yet another example of California citizens deprived of a proper defense tool. For shame Gov. Newsome !!

DeleteJen, my first thought also. Anybody knows that situation calls for a 357 magnum instead.
DeleteThey make the homeless move out of their tents and the coyotes are forced to find food in homes now... who would have thunk it...

Coyotes are sneaky fuckers. At my brother's ranch in north Texas late one night, a pack of a dozen or so we're trying to get at his tasty sheep. They were smart fuckers, the main group of them had all the Large Field Dogs occupied down near the creek that bordered the field, while another two went to the other side of the field and jumped the fence. My liberal brother ran to get his .223 rifle (Which he had never even sighted in) and handed it to me after emptying half his ammo and accidentally shooting one of his sheep in the process. Using the iron sights as he ran the spotlight, I was able to nail one of them good, and the other ran off after I nicked a leg or something in it. Tenacious and smart... The LFDs had a good time playing with the dead coyote.

I haven't successfully shot one... The only coyote I've killed was one of the rare times I wasn't carrying. I was walking our dog in our fields when she spotted and caught a small coyote. I held it with one boot and stomped its ribcage with the other boot until it stopped breathing.

All I know is that the coyotes around our part of Texas are getting bold. We seem to have both the Western and much larger Eastern varieties. I thought The first Eastern coyote I saw was a wolf. I carry a Ruger LCP II in .22LR on my morning power walk loaded with Federal Punch ammo formulated for short barreled pistols and I had a brief confrontation with 3 coyotes recently that didn't want to leave a rabbit they had killed out in a neighbors front yard. They finally ran off.
ReplyDeleteCoy dogs are getting wise to all the stupid out-of-staters moving in.
