One of 'those' neighbors

Residents at Fondren Place Town Homes in southwest Houston told ABC13 they no longer feel safe where they live.

According to several residents, the problem is an erratic neighbor.

Officers with the Houston Police Department have been called out to the Meyerland area several times in the past six months. Some of those calls resulted in criminal charges against the alleged suspect, Daniel Atnafu.

Fondren Place Town Homes sounds like an upscale neighborhood, but the jailhouse bars on the doors and windows tell a different story.

  3. The guy sounds 5150. California is full of crazy bastards who should not be set free. I would carry an "attitude adjuster" around if I lived there.

  4. Fondren was already turning into a shithole 25 years ago, when I moved away to Bastrop county. And it only got worse after the Katrina debacle. When I rented a small house in Houston in 2006, the agents I talked to told me the keyword for avoiding certain complexes was Katrina. I ended up in an "apartment" home which was an old second floor addition over a 4 car carport. It was in the Heights and was a very old, established community near downtown.

    2. We left Bastrop the year of the big fires (2011?) and ended up in the wilds of TN. I have never been happier in my entire lifetime.

    3. Yeah, I was gonna say "Fondren Place" doesn't sound great to any of us who lived in the Houston area.

As for Bastrop, I remember when it was barely a wide spot in the two-lane highway. How things have changed.
