Where bad choices make good stories
I don't know much about concrete except I heard the Italians make shoes out of it.
I think now the problem is getting decent sand for concrete.
Isn’t modern day concrete….the closest thing we can get….to Roman concrete….????Close….but not the same.Ed357
No, we can make it, it just doesn't play nice with steel reinforcing and non-reinforced concrete does not play nice with earthquakes.
Intresting. The Greeks had no concrete. All those temples don't have a speck of it. The stones were cut to fit and lock in place. That's amazing.

One of the things that made Roman concrete great was the substrate they used. The Japanese often used and still use ground up coral, which makes for very strong concrete.
