The Best Gun Leather in the Biz? Milt Sparks Holsters

When it comes to leather holsters, few names are as iconic as "Milt Sparks". In this week's video, I sit down with Nick and Jim to take a long look at the history of Milt Sparks Holsters as well as show the production of a VM-2 holster from start to finish. It's an interesting tale that parallels the world of the custom 1911!

  1. This won’t work for the Glock bois.
They want bedazzle with Taylor Swift glitter bombs every time they draw.

  2. My preferred 1911 holster is a Yaqui Slide I got from Milt in 1980 or so. Still hard as a rock, too

  3. Have 3 Milt Sparks VM-2s and another on order. After many hundreds of dollars poured into a "Holster box of shame", these things really hold up and are worth every penny. You get what you pay for.

    4. well, I happen to like DeSantis holsters for OWB and a Bianchi for IWB carry
both are of leather and not too cheap- under 100 bucks. can't stand plastic holsters
and yes, I also have a box of them as well. the Mitt Sparks holsters I saw where always sold out online. El Paso seems to make like holsters or I have read good things about them. like I told my brother when he wanted a holster, buy a good one and not something cheap from the Zon ! dave in pa.

  4. I think we've all got a box of holsters of shame. Eventually you finally realized quality costs. It's an expensive lesson

  5. I bought a 1911 holster from Denis at Dragon Leatherworks a few years back. I mentioned to Kenny at the time how slow he was. Having issues as I recall. Fast forward and he did deliver a fine holster, albeit it late. Don’t know what happened to him.

  7. Sadly, Kydex has replaced leather as the material of choice for holsters. I used to get mine from Tex Shoemaker in San Dimas. I could walk in and order anything I wanted at the counter.

They're gone too. BTW, Tex made the old-school swivel holster for Rick's Python on "The Walking Dead".

  8. I detest seeing a quality weapon in a cheap holster. Buy the best you can afford if you’re serious about carrying the pew pew.
