Your Tuesday Morning Florida Report

A dog in Florida is back with her family after she was lost at sea.

The dog, named Ellie, was found paddling a mile and a half off Fort Myers Beach by dinner cruise patrons.

The diners spread the word about the missing pup, eventually reaching Ellie’s owners.

The dog was reportedly swimming in the Gulf for over an hour before she was spotted.

  1. They looked for hours, but the dog was only swimming for "over" an hour? Who writes this?

    1. In all fairness, they went home and looked in the back yard...

    2. Careful reading shows that the dog swam for an hour, but the people who lost her looked for her until it was too dark to see, and only found out she had been rescued from a news report. So yes, she swam for an hour before she was picked up, and at the same time the owners were searching for her but didn't find her so they kept looking until they gave up hope.
