Years after the passage of federal COVID-era relief and the subsequent loss of likely hundreds of billions of those taxpayer dollars, lawmakers are still unsure where that money went, how to get it back, and seemingly have done little to prevent it from happening again.
Federal watchdog and other reports estimate anywhere from $200 billion to half a trillion was lost to waste, fraud and abuse across various federal and state COVID-era programs.
The Critical thinking big wigs were enriched and you emotionally reacting peons paid for it because millions of sheep traded their independence for perceived safety. And they'll do it again when, not if, the next manufactured threat comes down the road.
ReplyDeleteSo, to make this short, it all worked as intended
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't lost, just laundered and sent back to the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteShocked shocked shocked. While most eyes are on the big fish (like the fictitious companies grabbing millions in Paycheck Protection Program money), don't forget the bonus unemployment money. I had two neighbors pulling in the big money in Spring 2020, with no intention of looking for work, of course, something like an extra $600 a month, I forget exactly how much. Meanwhile I was working for $12 at a crud job in a crud Walgreens being managed by crud 30-somethings. One of the neighbors told me, "You should leave and apply for the unemployment! Your job was affected by covid, right? So you can get the money."
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that just like other fedzilla gibsmedat programs of redistribution, it'll be clawed back in some form if the victims are average Joe's, not Party members.
Delete*IF* the economy exists as it is long enough.
"anywhere from $200 billion to half a trillion": Must have been an off-day in govt spending
ReplyDeletelittle to show in a benevolent context. IMO there are still events and policies that show from the stimmies. like the rule of bureaucrats and NGOs. there were a lot of lump some payments that i think went to favored organizations. social justice orgs and endowment for democracy, usaid, local councils and county commisioners, etc. i would not be surprised that some in the warfare/welfare state getting more than others. what goes on behind closed doors?

As our leaders (ish) in England of the time, one Alexander DePfeffel Johnson and his side kick cum replacement Richy Sunak might have said, 'hold my beer', we can piss £500 billion without breaking sweat in our already bankrupt little isle.
ReplyDeleteBy the way sleepy Joe couldn't pronounce Rishy's name and famously called him Rashid Sanook.
Old history now, the Tories couldn't piss enough borrowed money away fast enough to suit their masters in Davos so we've since elected a bunch of socialists seemingly intent on turning our blighted isle into the totalitarian state Orwell warned us of, and may God have mercy on our souls.
Never give up your guns.
