Be patient with your dog, sometimes a command takes a minute to register, try not to yell at the dog but always remember how you treat the dog he will be with you no matter what, you are his world.
reminds me of Sky, my neighbor's granddaughter. for some reason my old dog loved her. followed her everywhere. almost. Slim was a big old roadie of 110 pounds and Sky was maybe 20 ? they had 4 summers together and Sky still talks about her buddy Slim today. we still miss that big old dog. dave in pa.
funny thing, Slim let that little girl do anything she wanted to him. used to scare the shit out of me ! but really her mom told me she never worried about her when Slim was by her side. he was getting gray around the mouth as well by then. still quick as anything though. he took care of a number of racoons that got too close to the house. she did things to that dog that me or the vet be scared to try. and he was 110 pounds of bone and muscle too. he used to watch everything as well. as soon as I saw their car in my neighbor driveway, I bring Slim over. otherwise that kid would run across the road to see her buddy, or he would run to see her. I watched that at least 10 or more times already. dave in pa.
That's nice but I suspect it's unusual as well which makes the experience, when it happens, so special. My dog wouldn't have a clue about anything beyond walks, petting, feigning deafness when hearing commands but otherwise busy and food. I love him to bits.
We don't appreciate dogs enough...

Dont grab too hard onto that dog's ear.... I like how the dog monitors the surroundings.

ReplyDeletehuh ?
ReplyDeleteMore proof that humans don't deserve dogs. Fortunately for us dogs are unaware of that fact.
ReplyDeletewe so do NOT deserve them.
