During my first enlistment, back in the late 70s, (and probably later, the memory isn't what it used to be) we had TP that you could actually SEE woodchips in it. I was impressed. Having grown up in Appalachia though, and knowing corn cobs and Sears Catalogs were good for "hygiene", it didn't phase me. Others however, were quite distressed...
That should sort my hems out.

TP at work was always two-ply, 180 grit sandpaper on one side and waxpaper on the tuther.
