Authorities in Georgia say three people, including a 13-year-old, face charges after the teen allegedly hit a man with their parents’ car, WALB reports.
Samuel Jenkins, 60, was riding his bicycle around 3:20 p.m. Sunday when he was hit by a car allegedly driven by a 13-year-old in Pelham. He was hospitalized after sustaining four broken ribs, a cracked skull and a punctured lung, his family says.
As I wait for the first of my total knee replacements I am riding the bike around the neighborhood as often as I can, I can't walk but biking allows me to keep my legs strong.
ReplyDeleteThese stories scare the hell out of me.
Yeah, I'm with you. I can walk, a little, but biking is fine and I can do distance without much trouble.
DeletePersonally, I'm assuming it was a black kid, but that might just be me. I live in a city that might have 30 black people total, so I'm not to worried.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Jenkins failed to stop at a stop sign and turned directly in front of the car, which police say the 13-year-old had taken for a joy ride. The car belongs to their parents.
DeleteJenkins, the 13-year-old suspect and a third person were all charged in the incident. Jenkins was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and driving under the influence, while the 13-year-old was charged with driving without a license. A passenger in the car, who is also a minor, is the third person charged.
It's not what you may think. A drunken cyclist ran a stop sign and was charged for causing the accident. The kid driver on a joy ride was ticketed for no license, but that's relatively minor (get it? ahem) since he was found not at fault.
ReplyDeleteWould've been safer to take Pelham 1,2,3.
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there….
