Remember when US Sec. of State told Saddamn he could invade Kuwait and it was not an US concern? That was awesome!, what old US educated and installed Saddam did wrong was take currency other than US petrol dollars for OIL. Operation Iraqi Fredom!
W, like it or not, was in fact correct about WMD. Saddam had chemical weapons - he had already used them. Whether he had bio or nuclear ready, there's no question he was trying to obtain them. All that said, WMD was a dumb hill to die on. Saddam needed to be killed and his regime dismantled because it was an abhorrent and criminal enterprise. No further reason needed. Same applies to Hamas, and any other terrorist organization. And their sponsors. With regard to Obama, he's not an American culturally; incapable of leading our country because he didn't grow up here. Bush, very much American culturally and thus within the range of acceptable choices. Compared to Obama or Carter, a gem.
Bush the Elder, former director of the CIA, understood that Iraq can only be held together by strongman tactics. Removing Saddam would descend the country into anarchy and regional warlords. Bush the Lesser proved that was the case.
With that lesson fresh in mind, Obama did the same for Libya. Libya is now a cesspit of human misery. Funny how we never hear about that, probably because it was was Obama and Hillary's major disaster.
Obama is either a slow learner or just enjoys human misery because he tried to do the same for Syria.

ReplyDeleteSimilar story for Khadafy. Renounce terrorism, give in to western demands, accept non dollar payments, get eliminated.
DeleteSimilar story with Russia going into Ukraine, but it was the US president greenlighting the invasion.
