1,000 active-duty soldiers to deploy to western North Carolina to help with Helene response

Up to 1,000 soldiers have been activated to help with relief efforts in western North Carolina, the White House said Wednesday. Many communities are still cut off after Helene brought catastrophic floods to the region last week.

The active-duty soldiers will join hundreds of members of the North Carolina National Guard already working in the area.

"These soldiers will speed up the delivery of life-saving supplies of food, water, and medicine to isolated communities in North Carolina – they have the manpower and logistical capabilities to get this vital job done, and fast," President Joe Biden said in a statement.

Nice try, Biden, but this should've happened on Day One.

The body count would have been high enough for him.

  2. It's about damn time! There should've been semi's loaded with everything needed for the disaster, helos, C-130's, etc headed down their! With all the money this asshole government we have spends overseas and lining their own pockets with, there should've been tons of supplies in the que ready to go before the rain ended! Staging areas could have been set up just outside the storms path with everything ready to go at a moments notice! If they can do shit like that to invade a country, they can do it to save our own citizens!

beside the ones at Bragg. between the two of them, they should handle just about anything
needed there. they should have gone in right after the damn rain stopped !

  4. Billions of our tax dollars sent over seas, billions, on some one else’s war effort or boarder.

Not sure whom is at the helm of FEMA but the individual in charge and about three levels down should all loose their jobs over this. Three levels down, no pension, nothin.

You know at some point when the Heritage White American Male, (HWAM) who just wanted to be left alone are enraged lots of government lackies will be assisted in assuming room/ambient temperature. 22BOH.

This delay is all on purpose, you do know that?

  6. That's good. A little late. Better than nothing. But what about areas in East Tennessee that have been hit just as hard? Erwin or all of Greene County? Or is it no consideration because Tennessee will not be in play for the election?

  7. I agree with everything that was posted.

Now lets also remember 2 things.
    1. Project 2025 wants to defund FEMA and privatize the weather service. That means no warning and worse response.
    2. It took Trump 6 months to restore electrical power to Puerto Rico.

  8. Surely the National Guard has to be used for this, not the U.S. military?
