  1. #9 It's bad enough there was one dumb ass, look at the boat behind the dis-masted boat, he was making a run also...

    1. For catamarans, if you want to stay up, turn up.
To avoid capsize, turn toward the wind.

      That's opposite for monohulls.

    2. Did that same thing on a Tornado years ago, only i went completely around the mast and came back to the center of the sail as she went over.
      Broke two battens.

    1. Hobie 16 racer here… pitch-poled more than I’d like to admit. Fun times indeed.

    2. Same here. Been cast around the mast a couple of times too.

    3. Hobie pontoons were designed to pitch pole. I could bury my NACRA hulls without a worry.

    4. Same here, smiley. It’s exhilarating until you have to untangle yourself from the sails, sheets and rigging, and then right the boat. Those old hobies had a large sail area for such a light boat and it was easy to overpower and drive the leeward bow underwater.

    1. Tough guy but smarts are an optional extra. I wonder if he's done it before without mishap but just got the angle wrong this time.

    1. You've never tried to pull your laundry off of a clothesline when it's windy?

    2. I remember the pant stretchers. Pants would have a great crease and stand up by themselves.

    3. Why did the sheet stand there for a second like it had a person in it, before it blew away?

    4. It's edited. There was a person in that sheet.

    5. Because it was wrapped on another line which is hard to see.

    6. Did they edit the wind in too?

    7. #4 Its from The Conjuring. Its a ghost or something.

    8. The scene was cut- the same thing happens with the second sheet, but when it blows away this time, the ghost of J. Edgar Hoover is standing there wearing her bra and panties- scary!
