Did that same thing on a Tornado years ago, only i went completely around the mast and came back to the center of the sail as she went over. Broke two battens.
Same here, smiley. It’s exhilarating until you have to untangle yourself from the sails, sheets and rigging, and then right the boat. Those old hobies had a large sail area for such a light boat and it was easy to overpower and drive the leeward bow underwater.
The scene was cut- the same thing happens with the second sheet, but when it blows away this time, the ghost of J. Edgar Hoover is standing there wearing her bra and panties- scary!

Same here. Been cast around the mast a couple of times too.
DeleteHobie pontoons were designed to pitch pole. I could bury my NACRA hulls without a worry.
