FEMA withheld pre-disaster money before Hurricane Helene and has been painfully slow in giving first responders deployment orders, multiple whistleblowers allege in a damning new letter.
The bombshell allegations of mismanagement at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) come just days after the agency took a beating for its boss Alejandro Mayorkas admitting it will not be able to foot the bill for this historic hurricane season.
Now a whistleblower from FEMA, including others on the state and local level are telling Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., that the department has wasted and misappropriated funds in the wake of Helene, which is 'exacerbating the emergency.'
Wasting money while sitting around doing little is Mama Gubmint's usual routine. Does anyone expect different anymore? RIF them deep, they can still not do any work with less staff.
ReplyDeleteSame comment I have made a GREAT MANY time before = "if you want something really screwed up just give the job the the US Federal Government".
ReplyDeleteThis is a bit of a repost:
ReplyDeleteI live in Tattnall county in Georgia. We were one of the original 11 counties listed as disaster area to FEMA. I was fairly lucky as I have minor wind damage and a yard full of limbs and pine cones. I did loose power for 6 days.
The FEMA hand out of $750 to those of us in the listed disaster areas is difficult to apply for. It is an on-line application. There is a lot of legalese double talk in filling it out. It will send you off in one direction only to find yourself back at an earlier menu. IMO the web site was designed to frustrate those applying. But what do I know? I only have 36 years in IT and communications.
I love Matt Gaetz and the hell he gives them in congress.
ReplyDeleteAs to the story, a wall at daybreak should be in their near future, especially moyorass

"The Republican is demanding to know how much money DHS and FEMA are spending on non-citizens vs. American citizens. "
DeleteBut he won't DO ANYTHING....he is just a lot of noise, bark but no bite.
The Republicans, Gaetz included make a shitload of noise, hold hearings, waste a bunch of taxpayer money, never punish anyone, never fix anything and are as useless as a tits on a boar.
He is as bad as any, and just as much a waste of oxygen as Biden is.
We are all have our own opinions for these matters and I posted mine, you are entitled to disagree with me but that doesn't mean shit to me so take a hike

Ok so maybe I was little harsh
DeleteI still don't give a shit but hey I'm not having the best day so

The federal government's fiscal year starts on October1st. Today is October 4th. Mayorkas is telling us he's out of money for FEMA.
ReplyDeleteI think most of the FEMA money went to this disaster of an administration.
ReplyDeleteThe Fed.Gov has a spending problem. Way back when Walter Williams use to fill in for the great Rush Limbaugh, Walter would occasionally remind the listeners that most real economists, including Milton Friedman, believed that 60 - 70% or more of Fed.Gov spending was unconstitutional. It is probably much more now.
ReplyDeleteThe founders never intended for the Fed.Gov to have direct interaction with citizens, certainly not to the level it is now. Make no mistake; although the Republicans have greatly contributed to the mess the country is in now, these problems are not caused by the government but by the Democrat Party that is illegally using government to accomplish their own agenda.
The only solution is for the states to cut off the money supply. I would like to see the red state governors do the following:
1. Get the state treasurer's together and audit Fed.Gov spending.
2. Identify all spending as Constitutional, Unconstitutional, and Unknown.
3. Direct all business and individuals in the state that pay fed taxes directly, to stop all tax payments to the Feds and submit them to the state.
4. State will distribute tax payments to Fed.Gov based on Constitutional spending only, pro-rated by the number of Florida House of Rep members. 28 (6.4%) for Florida, and 38 (8.74%) for Texas as examples. So if the constitutional items in the audit total $ 1 trillion, Florida would pay the Feds $64 billion, and Texas $87.4 billion.
5. All other affairs of the people and the state would be paid for by the state or the people. The excess funds collected could be used to pay the people that were getting fed aid for whatever purposes, returned to the tax payers, and the state could completely restructure the way the state handles welfare. Or whatever solution the state desires.
6. While all this is in progress, states need to shore up and expand their national guard and get ready for a fight if the Democrats want to have it.
7. Otherwise, succession should be a serious consideration.
Softcore tyranny is not getting the job done for the Democrats. Hardcore tyranny is on our doorstep. The only way they can succeed is for us to keep paying them to do it.
I’m 54. I’ve been in the disaster relief business since I was 18. Outside of the national guard there is no better assistance (in the south at least) than neighbors
ReplyDeleteIt’s not “the agency”, it’s people with names… name them, publish their names, punish them.
ReplyDeleteThis is the way.
