EMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Some mail for homeowners in East Memphis seems to have reached the wrong address after being found in the dumpster of an Ace Hardware.
A manager at the chain’s East Memphis location says they saw a USPS postal worker dump bags of mail into their dumpster Friday at around 5 p.m.
(shakes head)
ReplyDeleteAnd the USPS wonders why it is losing customers to people who get their important communications via email rather than letter, and why FedEx and UPS and other overnight services are handling the bulk of next-day deliveries. Of course, the junk mail senders still use USPS because the rate to send presorted junk mail is really really cheap.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there were no mail-in ballots in there, right? RIGHT????
ReplyDeleteYup, just practicing for the up and coming.
Deleteabout 90% of the mail I get daily is junk mail. But the other 10% is stuff I need and it would be a pain in the butt if I missed something important. My suggestion, while this is WAY down on the priority list of things this country needs to fix, is to eliminate the reduced cost incentives for mass mailings - but please start with the ones for political campaigns first.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't carry mail in East Memphis either.
ReplyDeleteOr be anywhere near the place.
Maybe he was driven crazy by all the political ads. I see my mail carrier some days and he wants the election to be over even more than I do.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, republican mail in ballots ?

There was a guy at work (briefly) that had gotten out of the Army and hooked up with a job at the USPS delivering mail. He said he was fired for dumping mail in the trash and skipping picking up mail from public mailboxes because as he put it, "I was tired and wanted to go home" but the best part was when he said, "I dint know dey was following me around the first coupla weeks..."

Has anyone seen the demographic majority of USPS workers lately? I rest my case.
