One-quarter of applicants ruled out colleges because of states’ political climate: Poll

(The Hill) — Just over a quarter — 28 percent — of students ruled out a school because of the politics, policies or legal situation in the college or university’s state, according to a new poll from the Art and Science Group.

Out of that group, about two-thirds decided to exclude certain schools at the beginning of their search, the organization found.

  1. I know my son decided against college, and largely because of the political indoctrination aspect of things. Even the Christian colleges aren't exempt, and they generally aren't good engineering colleges anyway.

He's a plumber now. Which probably pays more anyway.

  2. What a stupid reason for not attending a better college. In four or five or even six years when these less-than-mental-giants finally graduate from an inferior school with a non-sense degree, they may say, "Oh $hit! What have I done?"

    1. So you think it's better pay tuition to attend a school that is against your principles and everything you stand for?
Sorry, but that's hypocritical as hell.

    2. The problem is MUCH worse than that. You CANNOT get a degree without a passing grade in the required classes. Which at essentially all universities these days includes a "tolerance" "rascism awareness" or similar.

Unless you kneel and kiss the ring, you won't get your degree anyway! So if you already know you'd tell them to shove it up their ass sideways, why bother even starting?

What do you learn at havawd, yawn or columbian that you don't learn at an inferior school

A bachelor or masters degree is the same.. Oh I know, you don't have to suck dick and kiss ass like you do at a superior school..
Are you an over educated cock sucker??

    4. Yes, we must break the spell that college is such a valuable thing that all must break their balls financially to attain a degree. Especially with the present quality (or lack thereof) in what is offered at most American universities.

There are a handful of specialized fields that need a university education, and even those programs are now badly compromised by the rampant leftism that overarches the entirety of the university system in this country. The runaway system of credentialism must also be broken.

  3. In my small slice of the country, rural Texas near Ft. Hood, all my much younger friends are hardcore conservatives. Most have learned a trade - fuck college.

And they are very conservative - not stinking Republicans. These are kids in their 20-30s that were my kids friends. But they still drop by to hang out with me and drink a few brews. They all say their other friends are pretty much of the same mind.

And man are they pissed about things. These kids aren't stupid. They see what's up. It promises to be an interesting future.

    1. I sure hope so. I see some young guys who appear to be fairly based and have real potential as future shitlords.

The thing that worries me is whether they'll be able to keep the hooks of the environment poisoning/shit diet/surgical butcher faggot making complex outbox them long enough to make a difference.

Nice handle by the way, scsi.

  4. I'll bet a large slice of that reasoning was based on reaction to COVID and crime.

  5. Daughter turned down scholarships to Harvard and Yale to attend Purdue due to Heritage ranking then as the #1 free speech collage. Oh, and they offered the degree she wanted. Good choice up front.

  6. I told me some of my classmates that I would shred a resume if it said Cambridge, Yale, Harvard, or another Ivy League. My only exceptions is Rice University or MIT because they are just that good. I'm transferring to my four year soon.

I finally left Windows 7 and my old browser versions behind, lets see if I can comment now. ;)

  7. I wouldn’t have contributed what I did had I known what our local super university would do to my son. He did work and pay for the most part and maybe he already had the makings for his now liberal ways. He makes a good living but it’s a shame we can’t discuss politics or religion.
