ELVERTA, Calif. - A 60-year-old Roseville woman says she was kicked out of her Lyft ride because the driver did not have enough charge in his electric vehicle.
It happened early Friday morning as Catherine Smith was trying to get home from Sacramento International Airport.
The lady was shocked when the electric vehicle was grounded
ReplyDeleteNo real sympathy here....just saying
ReplyDeleteI bet there would be if it was your wife that got dumped..... just saying
Deletewhy did he pick up the ride if he was so low on charge
ReplyDeleteLyft doesn't screen for common sense.
Delete'Flying, so she left her weapons at home.'
ReplyDeleteSee, right there, that is a perfect justification for either:
a -- driving instead of flying, or
b -- [got nothing].
.
.
'Dumps her, drives away.'
Might be more to it than just her side of the story?
Note to travelers
ReplyDeleteNever get into a battery operated vehicle for hire....

Cutter makes a very valid point. I have no love at all for ev's, but I certainly would not want my wife, daughter, son, etc kicked out the car coming back from anywhere. I've never used Lyft, Uber or any taxi for that matter, but I would think you can request a non-ev vehicle?
ReplyDeleteWhat if I request a non-EV vehicle and the driver shows up with the car's low fuel light glowing? The widespread use of electric vehicles is a fairly recent activity in our world. Stupidity's been around for quite a bit longer.
DeleteThe Lyft driver was a cull. Sacramento International Airport isn't close to Sacramento. It's closer to Woodland than it is Sac. If the driver wasn't a loser he would have known he didn't have enough juice to make it to where 90% of his prospective riders would probably want to go.
ReplyDeleteThen there's the fact that Base Line Road is pretty much farmland with a few scattered houses here and there. It's no place to kick a woman and her luggage out in the middle of the night.
That was good of the Placer County SO to send out a deputy. They had helped me out before in a ticklish situation early one morning 30+ years ago. Both of the responding deputies were good people and I appreciated their coming out.
