    1. Plunging fire - think of a trebuchet as a medieval mortar or howitzer.
      For direct fire you'd want a onager or ballista

  7. If the trebuchet is mounted on wheels, the counterweight will fall more vertically, imparting greater velocity to the missile being thrown.

  8. One night a friend of mine and I got bored. We were swarmed by June Bugs so we made a June Bug cannon from a piece of tubing with a plug with a hole in it for the Black Cat cracker's fuse to protrude through. Just shooting them off wasn't all that much so we set up a target five feet away. Rang that thing like a bell.

  12. Terbucet are good area weapons if the defender is behind something. Onnagers or Ballistas are for busting stuff down.

  14. I am a firm supporter of building US border walls along with deportation trebuchets installed every 100 yards adjacent to the walls- Border Patrol incentives could include bonuses for accuracy, distance, etc....
