Here you go. Gotta let Kenny know how it was. https://www.cysticfibrosis.ca/events/events-calendar/squash-cf-2024
One night a friend of mine and I got bored. We were swarmed by June Bugs so we made a June Bug cannon from a piece of tubing with a plug with a hole in it for the Black Cat cracker's fuse to protrude through. Just shooting them off wasn't all that much so we set up a target five feet away. Rang that thing like a bell.
I am a firm supporter of building US border walls along with deportation trebuchets installed every 100 yards adjacent to the walls- Border Patrol incentives could include bonuses for accuracy, distance, etc....
Anyone that is near western North Carolina this weekend https://www.claychambernc.com/punkin-chunkin-festival/ That is just down the road from the former new year's possum drop
Nit enough jalapeños...

Good data, useful for later.
ReplyDeleteNeeds warhead and a fuse.
Judging from the end of the flight pattern I figure yer punkin has a glide ratio of 0.
ReplyDeletePlunging fire - think of a trebuchet as a medieval mortar or howitzer.
DeleteFor direct fire you'd want a onager or ballista
Cool
ReplyDeleteDon't know which I admire more:
ReplyDeleteThe engineering or the photography.

I would have thought it would go further? Or is it farther?
ReplyDeleteFarther is correct.
DeleteThanks, now explain that/which and who/whom.
DeleteWho should explain that which you request explanation to whom?
Delete"that *of* which you request explanation *of*", you barbarian.
DeleteGood to know

If the trebuchet is mounted on wheels, the counterweight will fall more vertically, imparting greater velocity to the missile being thrown.

ReplyDeleteThis whole thing is great!
ReplyDeleteI'll give you my trebuchet when you pry it from my cold, head hands.
ReplyDeleteHope ya got a permit for that trebuchet, if you live in a blue state. Took me 3 years to get my concealed carry trebuchet license.
ReplyDeleteIf anything went wrong, the house on fire would provide enough light to examine it and fix the issue.
ReplyDeleteTerbucet are good area weapons if the defender is behind something. Onnagers or Ballistas are for busting stuff down.
ReplyDeleteyall remember that documentary with the longbow archer vs the trebuchet ?
ReplyDeleteboth weapons were at max range distance - it was a good one
