Your Monday Morning Florida Report

A home health aide in Florida is accused of leaving an 86-year-old man who had fallen out of bed on the floor. Instead of helping the man back up, she went to sleep, according to authorities.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Beatrice Taylor worked for Assisting Hands Home Health Care.

  2. From the article:

One of the paramedics who arrived after Taylor eventually called 911 allegedly overheard her say to someone on the phone, “He was old anyway so what does it matter.”

This is reportedly what the she-boon said to people she was talking to on the phone. And she was charged with manslaughter. What a frigging bad joke.

  3. My father was in a retirement complex. Nearly all the residents said "Don't call 911" after a fall. The home's policy was "You must get up off the floor yourself or we will call 911." Two reasons for this policy: If you can't care for yourself, you belong in a facility that provides more care. Second, we don't want to be sued for your injuries by helping you up.
Beatrice could have saved herself all her trouble if she just did her job and called 911 before going back to sleep.

  4. Have the names of the victims have been hidden to protect the racist motivations of the home health aid? Asking for a friend.
