Subway is being sued for allegedly skimping on meat and “grossly misleading” customers by advertising sandwiches that contain 200% more meat than what customers actually receive.
According to the lawsuit filed in New York, commercial ads for the Steak & Cheese sandwich show layers of meat piled high, reaching about as high as the surrounding hero bread.
I don't eat subway very often but I have noticed the serving sizes seems to have shrunk. Saying that everything has done that in the slo joe scam except prices

I don't eat at Subway, but it does make me wonder if it is all of the stores, or just those owned by a handful of franchises.
ReplyDeleteI stopped buying lettuce at Subway YEARS ago. It is much cheaper at the grocery store. 🤔
ReplyDeleteI put Subway just above Arbys and Jackoff-In-The-Box ... which is at the bottom (with KFC just above Subway)
ReplyDeleteAin't that the truth. I used to like Arby's (20 years ago) but they really slid in quality. Never much cared for Subway, and Jack in the crack hardly has any locations left in my AO, and aren't good anyway, so not worth a drive to get to one. KFC turned into dog shit about 15 years ago, which is a damn shame because I like a fired chicken dinner sometimes, and theirs used to be pretty good back in the day.
DeleteFWIW, Subway has always been skimpy on meat and cheese IMHO, filling out their sandwiches with lots of lettuce.
These days, the only fast food I eat is Culver's, Freddy's And Raising Cane's.
Yep. They've always made a decent shredded lettuce sandwich. I'm a Jersey Mikes fan myself, but I've noticed their rolls getting smaller. Still a good sammy for $10. Donotos can be good too depending on the store. Better yet, I try to go local instead of the national brands. Think, food truck.
ReplyDeleteGo get em! I am so sick of the fraud from these food companies where there is a pretty picture on a frozen dinner that looks nothing like what's in the box - same with fast food. Quantity or quality.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't eaten at McDonald's in a decade and stopped in on the road yesterday for a quarter pounder. Was floored by the $7.49 for a burger.

ReplyDelete"by advertising sandwiches that contain 200% more meat than what customers actually receive" Just like online dating profiles.
ReplyDeleteSubway will likely settle for a few $M, lawyers bringing suit will get majority, customers in the “class” will get coupons for a buck or two off their next Subway sandwich. Lawsuits: it’s how lawyers get rich. As I always say, Dick the butcher was right.
ReplyDeleteUsed to stop in when out of town and buy a wrap, which wasn't bad. Since they dumped that, no way. There's a Southern Chain named Cook Out - tried it once, not bad. But I usually make a sandwich at home and stop at a rest area to a large parking lot to eat lunch. And save $10+.
ReplyDeleteCookout ROCKS. Best burger around here in Cookeville Tn
DeleteSteak and cheese is the only sammich I ever get at Subway. I get double meat on it, so there is definitely no shortage. Works for me!
ReplyDeleteFor nearly 30 years, Subway was my go to place if I ever wanted a thin slab of mystery meat on too much bread.
ReplyDeleteOr in plain words, it got so disgusting around 1995 that I haven't been back.
