  1. #1 - Cute. Situationally useful I guess. Probably MUCH more of a pain in the ass to use than it looks. Have to carefully reposition the truck every time, etc. There's a lot of setup we're not seeing, and that setup has to be done differently for every single log loaded. And I hope it's set up to break away if he pulls too far forward!
#3 - A perfectly reasonable response to poorly positioned controls. If you can't see what you need to see standing in front of them, then do what you have to, in order to get eyes on the action. Generally safer that way, but I can't see enough of the machine to be certain.
#9 - stick a plastic roach to her hand! A great add-on to the "cellphone Xray" trick!

  2. Ingenious. I can't zoom in enough for these old eyes to see. Is that a come a long on the chain or cable? There's got to be some way to loosen the tension to get the chain or cable off. It doesn't seem a chain binder would give enough slack.

    1. They're pretending to stretch a cable across the road. You never did that as a kid?

    2. I sure did. Also, as kids we'd be walking down a trail at night. Another group walking toward us. We'd make like there was a rope across the trail and all of us would step over it and keep walking passing the oncoming group. Then we would stop and watch them try to find that rope in the dark. I think one might call us pricks. Although when they found it was a ruse they as well as we, usually ended up laughing.

    3. A rural road, an old purse, a fishing pole, and a field of 8' tall Ohio corn. Some assembly required.

    4. I love how they run away once the "rope" is tied. It's so sincere!

    5. Several snammich bags filled with lawn clipping spread across the road, on the way to watch the sunset at a cliff in Southern California. Kids come out of the house acroos the street laughing....

  7. #4 - The Tappen Zee Bridge north of NYC has a machine that does that in the morning and in the evening to facilitate smooth less congested traffic flow.

  8. #3-the guy is standing barefoot within inches of a bunch of open terminations of some unknown voltage. Step just a little wrong and he'll be carbonized.

    2. They are hydraulic. Look at the lines.

    3. Looks like he's standing on the front stabilizer/outrigger of a truck mounted hydraulic self-loader while he operates the controls with his tootsies.
