thank you for this. reminds me of my buddy Slim. big goofy roadie who loved playing in the snow. honest to God, damn dog would stay out in it until he was freezing. I drag his ass in. he flop in front of the woodstove until he was steaming and then wanted out AGAIN. my neighbor used to plow up big piles for him to play in. going on 4 years now and we still miss him every day. he left a impression on people. my neighbors still talk and joke about the stuff he did. never touched the cats around here, but he sure did kill off a number of racoons and other critters. a big happy dog. dave in pa.
and he loved the UPS guy for some reason. one time Slim rode along with him for a spell. only found out when the guy knocked on the door and had me come get him. he was happy to look out the window as they drove around his route. we thought he was walking around or something, but no. he was riding with Sam (our UPS guy at that time) damn dog was gone for close to 2 hours ! still laugh when we talk about it seeing this post and the snow falling outside made me start thinking about Slim again. THANKS. dave in pa.
yeah. even though I cried when each one passed. I still have their pictures and remember how they made or changed my life. life is just better with a dog. I know a lot of dogs around here, their owners names I might forget. but never the dog's name. funny as they don't seem to mind that. the owners that is.

ReplyDeleteHave yet to see a dog that didn't love the snow.
ReplyDeleteI've got an old cocker mix that doesnt like rain or snow, might be because he's from Lebanon and didn't come to the US till he was 4-5.
