NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Although inflation has come down in recent years, a new study shows Tennesseans are still spending a big chunk of their paycheck on groceries.
According to ConsumerAffairs, grocery prices are taking a bite out of consumers’ incomes, especially in southern states.
Out here in the Wild West, my grocery bill is higher than my mortgage payment, and my mortgage payment is over $1700.00/month... which is ALSO up about $300.00 since Biden stole office... This is for three adults... And yes, we ARE trying to stretch things as much as possible...
ReplyDeleteI love the perennial "Although inflation has come down in recent years..." comment. That's a twist on words; a "spin." The RATE of inflation may have come down some but inflation is still INCREASING. It's hard to lie to those of us LIVING the TRUTH!
"I love the perennial "Although inflation has come down in recent years..." comment." Yep that stood out to me right away. These prices will never go down much if at all. Look at the history of inflation, it'd a vicious cycle that destroys your earnings.
DeleteWe had enough savings to see us thru death. Now I'm not so sure.
ReplyDeleteRest easy knowing your surviving relatives will sell your body to a medical school and use the profits to buy a week's supply of food.
DeleteAverage profit margin is 1.5% to 2.5% for grocery chains. It's NOT gouging. It's fuel prices, crop prices, ground store prices (rent/lease), taxes.
