Kentucky distillers express concerns about possible tariffs

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - During his first administration, President-Elect Donald Trump enacted tariffs on steel and aluminum for the European Union.

This led to taxes on U.S. products in response, including a 25 percent whisky tariff.

  2. Tariffs are always good unless you don't care about American industries and only want the least expensive goods available. It will be painful, but we have to stop relying on potential enemies for the goods we require to survive.

  3. Nowadays I get my whisky from Filey Bay which is about forty miles from where I live in East Yorkshire, England. The water and barley come from a nearby farm.
