One of those neighbors.....

The Minneapolis police chief is admitting that his department “failed” to protect one of the city’s residents who has long feared for his safety.

That man, Davis Moturi, was hospitalized with a gunshot wound, allegedly shot by his neighbor after months of escalating encounters and calls to police ended in gunfire last week.

Dude pops one of his neighbors, and the Chief of Police decided to "wait him out" because of safety concerns - for his own men. Fuck anybody else within rifle range.

From the article:
O’Hara says before SWAT officers were sent in, the department used a behavioral threat team, a psychiatrist and members of Sawchak’s family to try to urge him to come out of the house.

So I take it your top notch behavioral threat team didn't work? Really? Imagine that.

  1. > “We failed this victim 100%,” O’Hara remarked.

You not only failed the victim, you failed your duty to the community at large, your duty to the officers under you, and, most of all, your duty to serve and protect to which you swore an oath.

You're not fit to serve, much less lead. Resign and crawl under a rock where you belong.

  2. Chill, all of you. The police did the right thing. They did not want to hurt the feelings of the perp.

  4. They must have been watching that godawful "Criminal Minds" series that the memsahib and daughter are so keen on. The plots, scripts and acting make David Caruso look like a supoerstar.

  5. They "tried to arrest him" for half a year while keeping him under constant surveillance that entire time? And one of the excuses was lack of manpower. The Keystone Cops could do a better job.

  6. Police have no duty to protect you. It's gone to Supreme Court two or three times.

    1. No, but they do have the duty to uphold the law. That's in their job description.
