The most expensive goat tacos ever

A 9-year-old girl who fell in love with the goat she raised for the Shasta District Fair was heartbroken when deputies, wielding a search warrant, confiscated the furry livestock, taking him away to be butchered.

Two years after the scandal erupted, Shasta County has agreed to pay $300,000 to the girl’s family to settle the legal dispute over the floppy-eared brown-and-white goat named Cedar.

    1. Lawyers are like people. Some are bad, some are good and some are great.
I was involved in a lawsuit that, because my very fine attorney felt my case was righteous and because he felt my inventory of losses was the best and most complete he'd ever seen, only charged me half of his usual 40% fee. He was a great guy.

  7. This isn't about the goat. Its about submission to control, Much Like Peanut. It will keep happening until .GOV qualified immunity is removed and lawsuits payouts come from the person committing the act and their employee unions retirements funds. But as an aside, all these folks do have names and addresses. To me the fairgrounds started this and needs to be the main one to pay thru their ass. Googled the fairgrounds, guess what came up first, a picture of a girl and a goat there. If they choose not to do the right thing, then there might be consequences. Those old buildings sure look like fire traps on google.

  9. These incidents are never about the animal. They are about power. The ability of the criminals and their hired thugs to impose themselves on the little people simply because they can.
