Whistleblower warns FBI can’t be trusted with background checks for Trump’s nominees
An official at FBI headquarters in Washington is warning that the bureau’s security clearance division is politicized and can’t be trusted to screen President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees for top administration jobs.
There are couple of almost comical statements in the article.
The first I noticed was "Being completed as expeditiously as possible..." These things can easily take over a year depending on the general workload.
Next was the hand-waving saying "FBI’s role is purely fact-finding" and doesn't make judgments on the facts. They state this to give the illusion that they can't be biased since they don't judge the facts. But they do decide what facts are included in the review and which ones to overlook. To a great extent, they also assess the credibility of the "facts" gathered. Think Brett Kavanaugh accuser. If she was given no credibility by the FBI, no one would listen to the "facts" that she brought up (yes, I know, she probably was not vetted by the FBI, but you get the idea).
The article does point out, if you don't tow the line of the FBI director and the rest of the FBI swamp, they will destroy your career by yanking your clearance.
I had a friend who wanted to go from temporary to permanent as a pharmacist at the VA hospital. When I told him I got a questionnaire about him from the FBI. He was shocked and said he made the application a year earlier. So it's nothing personal.
I had heard that Trump was not going to use the FBI to run background checks on his nominees. I believe he can have that done by a outfit of his choosing.
A person can only make decisions as good as the information they are given. At some point you have to wonder why pay the FBI, the CDC, the FDA, and the joint chiefs.
yeah, right. is this the same FBI who director takes the company plane back and forth to work instead of driving 1 hour ? NO ,SHIT. when I read that bit where he uses the "company " plane to avoid driving ? and just how much does that cost the taxpayers ? per trip ? or per day ? funny thing, I remember my dad laughing at the show ":the FBI" with what's his name in it. he called massive PR bullshit. he said the FBI fucked up so many things it was even close to funny. he also used to say they could not find anything without the tip line .

So the FBI, which has hounded everyone associated with Trump for 8 years, can't be trusted to vet his nominees?
