My St. Bernard was like that. She made a great winter blanket. When I got up she'd fluff my pillow, put her head on it, and go to sleep, while I'd go to WORK!
Nothing like a giant breed dog for hugs, I’ve just lost 2 Great Danes to hunters less than 1000 ft from my home. I’ve lived here for 36 years and never had any problems. People kill just to kill. And no I can’t fence my yard in, I live on the side of a bluff, in a hole.
Yes Sir JD, I’ve call the Game Warden, she was absolutely useless. I’ve contacted the Timber Company, my customer is affiliated with the timber industry and I’m in contact with an attorney who represents the timber industry. My wife and I have scoured around 100 acres at home. DJ was 200 lbs, Winston was about 120 as he was a young rescue. If I’d of known that there was a lease this year I’d of made dang sure to have kept the up. I’ve been blessed to rescue Danes for going on 12 years now. I’ve had as many as 5 in our home. Here in Winston County we do not have an Animal Control department. He’s already called the law on me for hunter harassment, all I ask is why? This has been absolutely heartbreaking to us.
Man that's a tough one. Hopefully that/those assholes are found and .. well justice is served on him/them Sorry for your loss... Merry Christmas to you and yours JD

ReplyDeleteMy neighbor had St Bernards and I'll tell you that when a St wants to be petted, you pet'em. Great dogs in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteIs that the Longhaired Anaconda breed of St Bernard?
