Wisconsin group calls for DOGE-style review of government services, spending

A Wisconsin group is calling for its state government to undergo a review of state government spending and staffing similar to what is being proposed for the new federal Department of Government Efficiency led by Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Wisconsin’s Institute for Reforming Government is reiterating a plan it proposed in 2023 to reduce the number of full-time state employees by contracting for professional services and finding redundancies.

  1. As a citizen of that Kingdom across The Pond, the dreich , picturesque, bit up North I dare to comment.
I am sure that people in many other States are saying, " Oh what a disaster. What are we going to do. But we will just have to make the best of it. America's loss will be Justin Castro's gain"
While thinking, " Oh dear, what a pity, never mind. Do you you think you could persuade California to go with you? And a few others? "
I love America and all the grand people that I have met while working there. The
    Happy Christmas.

  2. "by contracting for professional services and finding redundancies."? No mention of reducing services, eliminating licensing and regulations, or getting rid of things altogether!?

Yeah, not going to make much progress with that attitude.

  3. Funny, the neighboring state with Jazz Hands in charge went from over $17B surplus in 2020 to $616M surplus this year.

Projected to be $5B deficit by 2028-2029.

The worst thing that could happen is this country "resets" with the same borders, the dollar and bureaucracy with different people in charge and no mass incarceration/genocide of traitors.

Best thing would be the dollar death and a barter economy based on production for a while to cull off the parasites.

  4. We need a team to come to the republik of Kalifornia to clean house. If (when) they find wasteful/ unlawful spending and tie it to a politician they should have the ability to make said politician personally repay it, work off like an indentured servant to the state to pay it off, including their family members and extended family as needed, and execute them for treasonous acts found. I'm sure the budget would get fixed quick. ok yes, wishful thinking.
